The 100% Rule(possibly the most powerful EVER when it comes to weight loss and healthy living), Sharing Your Calling and Win a Beachbody Workout Program!
Flipping through a Muscle and Fitness Hers magazine 7 years ago, I stumble into a little tip that reads “The 100% Rule” and my life changed.
This philosophy is something that all athletes and body builders know and follow, because they’re body being in tip-top shape is not a lifestyle option; it is their livelihood. With that in mind, I figured they’d be the people to know…and after putting it into action myself I discovered that yes, they do know! Following this strategy, I moved from overweight to fit in just 4 short months, and it is my joy to share it wit you and have confidence you’ll find it as powerful!
In this article, I’ll share with you the exact formula for how to get the best physical body you possibly can achieve in your own skin through applying the 100% Rule in your own life. You and I share similar truths in that we are both creations of God, both have been gifted a body to live in, and we are each called to live our lives in a higher tier to His glory. “Fitness” is defined as being fully able to accept a challenge or do a task…and so no matter what God has called us to do, living in a healthy, physically fit and happy body will enable us to be fully equipped to take it on!
Yes friend, our calling is lived out best if we are living in and enjoying a healthy, fit, and happy body!
First, lets face reality:
You have created the version of who you are right now. If you’re lean, you created that fit body with your daily choices. If you’re overweight, you created that overweight body with your daily choices. There is no room here for excuses, this is the truth. The goal is not to judge anyone, but to empower with the knowledge needed, place the right tools in their hands so they can confidently move forward and become the best version of themselves that they can possibly be!
Here is the 100% Rule broken down:
You are made up of the following:
What you eat: 80%
Wowzers! You could take this point and run with it and have success in whatever your fitness goals are because eating is the most powerful action of all! What you eat, and especially what you choose not to eat, is the main focus. Eating clean, healthy, nutria us foods 90% of the time will ensure our bodies to live in harmonious health. If you are lean, it will continue to fuel you. If you are overweight, it will release stored fat at a fe and quick rate unit your body falls into it’s pre-designed set point. What you do: 10%
Your physical fitness and how active you are during the day accounts for 10% of what tour body looks like and feels like. It doesn’t seem like much, and you’d be correct in assuming that alone 10% can do very little for one who is trying to lose weight. But when you’re eating is clean and healthy, the 10% is compounded and will be a huge helper in keeping your insides healthy and your outsides toned. You’ll want a balance of resistance (toning, weights), cardio, and flexibility training…in that order. More resistance than cardio. Take note there! Heredity: 10%
One of the gifts our parents passed down to us is DNA, some of which is good, and some of which we’d rather not have. Either way, it’s what we’ve got. My father’s side of the family has passed down obesity, diabetes, heart disease, disability and early death. Though I must be aware of this, most likely I will continue to avoid these diseases and stop the chain by taking responsibility for the other 90% by maintaining a higher level of physical fitness and healthy eating. The beautiful thing is I will consciously be passing good health to my children and their children. You can too. Through your decision to adopt a higher tier of living, you will avoid most cancers, heart disease, stroke, degenerative diseases, and a host of depressing ailments and share the gift of health to those who are inspired by you, and those who may come after you.
Be a wise person.
Most of us know what we need to do, especially when it comes to our physical fitness. many already have tools and opportunity to start. But having the knowledge is not enough. We must also do what we know we need to do in order to live a life in a higher tier. Just like the wise and foolish builder Jesus shares about in Matthew 7, it is wise to act after we receive the knowledge if it will help us reach a new level.
The Challenge.
So my challenge to you is this: if you know you need to make healthy living a part of your life, I hope you will do these things:
1 – Eat clean, healthy meals 90% of the time. Tool: Meal Guide.
2 – Exercise for at least 10 minutes, 6 days a week. Tool: Exercise DVD.
3 – Do this consistently for 4 weeks and then reevaluate (steps below)
Revaluation:
After 4 weeks, ask yourself:
- Have I made significant strides toward my goals?
- Is my exercise challenging enough?
- Am I following the meal guide to the best of my ability?
- Is this routine working for me and my family?
- What things do I need to start doing or stop doing to move up a notch?
So what do you think about what I’m challenging you to do? Simple, yes? It most certainly is! The first few weeks will take some ironing out as you get in your groove, but once you’ve settled into your own way of doing things it gets even easier…and the rewards are I credible!
